“Sailor Vern”
This book follows Vernon Franc Ingemarson born May 26, 1919 from his small mining town in Colorado to the high seas of Guam and every where in between. As many artists in the time period he got his interest in tattoos from his time in the navy where he was stationed in California and Guam. After the war he traveled to Virginia where he studied with Cap Coleman until the Norfolk ban on tattooing in 1950. Afterwards he traveled to San Francisco to find steady work in order to support his family and finally ended up as a security guard. Along the way he befriended the likes of Ed Hardy, Paul Rogers, Chuck Eldridge and Bob Roberts.
